Crown Armchair
Crown Armchair is inspired by the legendary Lockheed Super Constellation ("Connie") L749 aircraft. Its polished 304L stainless steel construction is combined with Italian genuine leather and handcrafted hardware made of jewelry 316L stainless steel.Selected sheets of Italian grain leather, 316L and 304L stainless steel transform in this beautiful object in the process of 237 assembly operations.
All operations, including the assembly of belts and their fastening elements, hardware, are done exclusively by hand.Client:

Fastening rings have outlines of the wings of the Phoenix Super Constellation GT developed by us and are made of high-strength steel 316L. The inner and outer surface of the rings with micro rivets imitates the metal lining of the aircraft body.
The holster screws are made of high-strength 316L steel and exactly repeat the shape of the nose cone of the engine of the Phoenix Super Constellation GT at a scale of 1:280. On the surface of the holster screw engraved 8 hemispheres that correspond to the location of the fastener screws of the nose fairing It takes up to 4 hours to create one such screw. Crown uses 37 such screws.
The creation of a set of rings for one such art object takes up to 225 hours of net working time. Milling, polishing and finishing of the rings are made exclusively by hand. The Crown chair uses 16 rings.
The frame is made of 304L steel grade. Finish of the one frame for a chair takes up to 168 hours of work. The height adjustment legs are hand-carved from 304L stainless steel, encrusted with natural leather. The name plate is made of 316L stainless steel and is fastened with two screws from the same steel.
